Get Fit Team 2015

Our Annual get fit team will be starting on January 4th 2015.

The team meet every Sunday for 8 weeks for an hour of explosive training designed to kickstart everyone's fitness at the beginning of the year.

The cost is £10 payable upfront (£1.25 per Sunday) and for this you get to train with likeminded colleagues from the club.

Of course anyone can go for a jog on a Sunday morning for nothing but like joining a gym unless you pay extra for a personal trainer you require motivation - we give you that motivation and willpower, an incentive and a gentle kick up the arse when you feel like quitting.

This year the get fit team is being organised by Jon Clarke a veteran of the 2014 Challenge..

Trust Fund Details..

A few years ago while at a prestigious event we noted that some children were missing out on competitions because the families couldn't find £8 entry fees.. This while we were drinking £5 beers!!

The fact is we are in a very deprived area, some children come from unstable homes, some families are  drug / alcohol dependant and frankly the kids are the lowest priority.

We have had social services referrals for years and boast some fantastic results strongly believing that although individually they may not be champions in the ring they (with our help) can be champions in life - hopfully not like their parents.

The money goes into a separate account and expenditure is decided by instructors. In the past we've replaced trainers so students can run, funded summer camp places for destitute families, paid for competition entry fees and even subsidised training.

Some of the stories we've encountered over the years are horrific.. From a 9 year old who had never seen a cow, to serious sexual abuse cases - we've seen it all..

Some students donate a few pounds, some £20 a month, simply choose your budget and set up a standing order to the account details (on the poster).

Thank you in anticipation!

Kids Camp 2015

We are happy to announce the dates for next years Kids camp. Friday 31st July to Sunday 2nd August.

This will be the fourth year that we have taken ALL the kids away for a weekend and this year it's like it's going to be the biggest yet.

GODO Jujitsu from Northampton have already confirmed they will be joining us again next year so we are looking at another very busy event.

Letters will be going out in January and we will only need a £10 deposit to secure places. The total cost is £50 including Food, Accommodation & Transport.

Places are limited by the site so I urge you to act swiftly. Start by making a note of the date.

Last years website for the event is www.kidscamp.info it's not up to date
with current info but it'll give you an idea
of what's what!

Christmas Party..

We packed over 200 people into the gym
last weekend for our annual Christmas Party and Awards Ceremony.

The awards we're all won by student
/ family and friends votes and 10 lucky students picked up prestigious awards ranging from Student of the year to young leader of the year.

In addition to the normal awards Kru Matt awarded Karl and Lee a special award for  contributions to the club.

A fantastic night with great people!!

Posting on Facebook

Every student should now be aware of how our Facebook account has changed, it has been converted into a page meaning that we lose some of the communication lines that we once had.

LIKING TELFORD THAI BOXING

The first thing you need to do is like our page.

Type Telford Thai Boxing into the search bar and select our page. Click the like button.

OPTION ONE

Facebook pages and intern our club need an online presence to work effectively, the bigger the presence the more people are likely to see our posts. Your help can come in several ways - the easiest way is to share, like or comment on something that we have already posted. This takes seconds and gives us whats called "Engagement" if nothing else please ensure you do this.

OPTION TWO

Another way is to post directly onto our page - this is simple and takes no more than a minute,

All you have to do is open our page and write your post directly onto our page as detailed above, you can add photos and / or links & tag your friends with this option.

FINAL OPTION

Another way is to actually write a post on your own wall and tag Telford Thai Boxing in your status update. This is slightly more complicated but still very effective.

Step one add Telford Thai Boxing as a location.

Step two write your status and tag your friends.

Step three - post.

Whatever way you choose to help your club grow, we very much appreciate your help, if everyone with a Facebook account helped us we would have an online presence / viral of over 200K people making Facebook one of our best and cheapest advertising options.

Party Update

Good morning TOMORROW (Thurs 3rd Dec) is the LAST that you'll be able to purchase party tickets.

With over 180 tickets sold we only have 20 tickets left so please act fast to avoid disappointment.

The party starts at 7pm a week on Saturday at the gym. We have a licence to sell alcohol, bar staff and a doorman so we are all geared up for a cracking night.

We will be asking everyone to bring some food and will have a list at the gym, please confirm what you would like to bring.

We also want donations for the raffle, any unwanted gifts, bottles, pound shop funnies..

We also urgently want Christmas decorations if you have any spare?

Great weekend in Snowdon

The advanced kids joined us on an epic Snowdonia adventure last weekend.

18 Kids came away with instructors and adults with one goal, to conquer the largest mountain in Snowdonia, Mt Snowdon.

Everyone did exceptionally well, we summited just before sundown and walked back off the mountain in the dark.

On the Sunday we left the bunkhouse and headed to one of the local towns for a game of football with the locals.. Obviously we Won!!
